Events This Weekend:
  • We are all on the path to sainthood, just as the Apostles were.  Come watch another episode of The Chosen, Saturday, July 31st, in the Parish Center.  Pizza before the show at 6:00pm.
  • Virtus Training will be in-person on Saturday, July 31st from 10am to 2pm. Call the Parish Office for more information.
  • Starting this weekend, we will be adding a new Communion station at the following Masses only – 5:00 pm Saturday, 9:30 am and 11:30 am Sunday.  The station will be in the middle aisle that runs across to the confessionals.  Two EMHC people will be stationed at the last pew of the front section of pews in the main aisle. This station will serve the first half of the pews in the nave (long section of the church).
  • At the following Masses only – 5:00 pm Saturday, 9:30 am Sunday and 11:30 am Sunday each Communion station will have a pyx with Low-Gluten Hosts for those that are in need. The person with the pyx will be standing at their station on the Mary side. Please indicate that you would like the Low-Gluten Host.
Upcoming Events, Announcements and Changes:
  • Join the Deacons for Evening Prayer on Tuesday August 10th at 6:45pm in the new church.
  • The Kid’s Stuff Sale is coming up in August. Donations will be accepted starting on August 7th with the sale the following weekend. See the flyer in the bulletin.
  • Labor Day Picnic Chicken Dinners will be offered this year. See the information in the bulletin to purchase a dinner or help with the event.
  • The Choir is recruiting new members, please contact the Director of Music, Sean Tunney, if you would like to join.
  • The music for the ordinary Mass is changing next weekend for the forseeable future. We will use the Gloria found at number 875. The Holy Holy, Memorial Acclamation, Amen, & Lamb of God can be found beginning at number 870. The numbers are in the bulletin and are posted on the hymn board for your reference.
  • Registration for in-person Religious Education and Youth Ministry for the fall is available. The bulletin has the details for registering your children.
  • Do you know anyone interested in becoming Catholic? Please refer them to Fr. Barkett.
  • Please do not respond to emails or text messages from Fr. Barkett requesting assistance. We are aware of the scams being sent out under his name.
  • We are continuing to gather names for our Military Prayer List. If you or someone you care about is in the military or in harm’s way, please send the names to bulletin@stmaryofsorrows.org. They may appear in the bulletin or in a frame, so please only identify those that are aware of the prayers and their names being published.
